Shape is a stuffing problem
Leather remembers. A collapsed tote becomes a collapsed tote. Stuff enough that the sides stand, not so much that the seams strain. Soft slouch bags want less stuffing than structured box totes. Handle-drop should rest, not dangle off a hook.
Dust bags, not plastic
The cotton dust bag that came with the bag is the right humidity buffer. Plastic traps moisture and mildews lining. If you lost the dust bag, an old pillowcase is the same idea. Store away from radiators and windows. Patent and coated canvas can sit next to each other; suede wants space so it does not stain a neighbour.
Rotation is storage
A work tote that never rests never dries. Alternate with a crossbody on light days. That is also how you notice a failing strap before it fails in a station.

- Only wrapped in tissue. Ink transfers, especially onto light leather.
- Can I keep my bag on a hook by the door?
- Canvas and nylon, yes. Leather totes, no. The handle is not a hanging loop.
- Should I condition leather before storing?
- A light condition, then 24 hours to absorb, then the dust bag. Do not store wet cream.
