Two jobs, two textures if you need them
Spot concealer wants a bit of grip and opacity. Undereye wants thin and flexible. Using a drying full-coverage stick on a dry undereye is the crease factory. Using a watery undereye serum-concealer on an active spot is a smear.
Order: SPF set, thin base, then concealer. Or concealer only, no base, on a good-skin day.
The triangle is usually too much
Paint the hollow that is actually dark, not a geometry exercise down to the mouth. Warm the product on the back of the hand. Tap with a finger. If it still looks like a stripe, you used too much, not too little blend.
- Blemish: thin layer, wait, second layer if needed
- Undereye: sheer, then cream blush so the face has blood again
- Replace creamy concealers around 12 months — expiry
Crease management is skin plus amount
Hydrated undereye, thin product, press in a whisper of powder with a small brush if you smile and it folds. Do not pack powder. If it still fails, the concealer is too dry or too light. Longevity tricks sit in the all-day guide; amount still wins.
Questions, answered
- Finger or brush?
- Finger for undereye (warmth). Small brush for spots. A huge sponge drinks product and sheers your coverage into nowhere.
- Colour corrector first?
- Only if a sheer concealer cannot handle a specific colour. Most faces just needed a better undertone concealer.
- Why does it look worse by lunch?
- Too much product in a fold, or dry skin. Less concealer, more cream at night, blot not layer at noon.
