A wet cloth in a warm room is a farm
You removed SPF, sebum, and makeup into a textile, then hung it damp. That is a culture medium. A 24-hour re-use is a compromise. A week is a hobby in the wrong sense.
Hands only is a valid routine and skips this paragraph. Cloths are optional.
The laundry details that matter
60°C when the label allows. Detergent, not just a rinse. No softener, no dryer sheet film. Dry on a hot dryer or a line until actually dry — damp in a bag is how it smells like a cellar.

How many to own
Seven cheap cloths is $10–$20 and a rotation. White or pale so you can see they are clean. Replace when the edge is black and the middle is sandpaper — usually 6–12 months of honest washing. Konjac sponges dry fully and replace every 4–6 weeks.
Questions, answered
- Can I microwave a damp cloth to sanitise it?
- A hot wash is the grown-up version. Microwaving a dry cloth is a fire. Do not invent appliances.
- Is a towel the same as a cloth?
- A face towel used to dry a washed face can last a few days if it dries. A cloth used to wash is dirtier. Do not mix the jobs on one textile for a week.
- Microfibre?
- Fine, washed often, no softener. Too-aggressive microfibre is an exfoliant. If you are shiny-tight, switch to cotton and hands.
