Bath Sheet vs Bath Towel: Which Size to Buy
A bath towel is 70 × 140 cm and 400–600 GSM. A bath sheet is 90 × 150–180 cm and needs a bar, a dryer, and a bathroom that can dry 800 g of wet cotton.

UK/EU bath towel: 70 × 140 cm is the adult default. US “bath” is often 27 × 52 in (69 × 132 cm). A bath sheet starts around 90 × 150 cm and runs to 100 × 180 cm. That extra 40–50 cm of length is why you can wrap it; it is also why it drapes on the floor of a small bath and never dries at the hem.
GSM still rules. A 90 × 170 cm sheet at 400 GSM can be a better daily object than a 70 × 140 cm towel at 800 GSM. Weight on the rail is GSM × area. Do the arithmetic before you fall for “spa.”

When a sheet earns the extra cotton
Tall bodies, shared showers where you walk a hallway, a cold house: the sheet is nicer. Pair it with a cotton bath rug that can take the drip. Do not buy six sheets “for guests.” Guests are fine with a 70 × 140 cm towel that is actually dry. Guest size lives in hand towel vs guest towel.
Wash and store like the larger object it is
A sheet load is fewer pieces. Two sheets can fill a 8 kg drum. Follow the fluffy-wash rules and do not finish them damp. Fold in half twice the long way so a 40 cm shelf can take them without a lean.

- No. Beach towels are often printed, lower GSM, and sand-oriented. A bath sheet is terry you would put on your face.
- Can I use a bath sheet as a blanket?
- You can. It is a wet-room textile. Wash it as a towel after, not as a throw that lives on the sofa for a month.
- What GSM if I want a sheet in a small bathroom?
- 400–500 GSM, and a heated rail. 700 GSM sheets in a windowless bath are how houses smell.
