Black sits next to white, grey, and more black; brown leather fights it unless you mean the fight. Black is unbeatable at night and in a certain kind of city uniform.

The cost of keeping both
Two dress shoes. Two belts. A coat that will be wrong half the week. If you have the space and the money, keep a black dress and black evening shoe as extras, and let navy run the days. That is not purity. That is fewer decisions at 7am.
When mixing is the point
A black knit under navy is a texture trick, not a clash. A navy trouser with a black boot can work if the rest is simple. What fails is a 50/50 closet where every outfit is a coin toss. Pick the dark your current shoes already match.
